The Way to Reduce Stress May be More Simple Than we Think

A lot of people in seemingly economically advanced countries visit licensed psychotherapists and take antidepressants hoping to cope with stress and depression. They often spend thousands of dollars on all of those but in many cases only end up getting addicted to some expensive meds, while as soon as they stop those, their problems return. At times in a worse form than before.

When I was traveling to places like Dominican Republic, India and some other countries where half the citizens don't even own a computer and the only thing to drive they have is a bicycle, I found them to be ways much happier people than those I met in the wealthier and more developed places of the world. They are friendly, smiling and they take their life as a gift from God that should be enjoyed instead of getting focused and depressed over each little problem like many of us do in West Europe and USA.

When I talked to these people I realized a big part of it is the fact they have closer family and social links. They have a mom, dad, brother, sister and a neighbor next-door to share their worries and concerns with. And when their families and friends will listen to them and support them willingly instead of saying "I've no time for your problems" like many people will tell their friends and close ones in the western world.

"But I'm living in this western world where everyone's too much stressed out and got too fast a pace of life to give a helping hand to a close one.. What do I do?" you may wonder. Well, even in this western world by far not every person is unfriendly and unhelpful. We can still find help and understanding from others even in countries where it's rare to find. The only problem is we tend to choose the wrong people to be around, and that's because..we attract the sort of people that are similar to ourselves!

And, in fact, we should start with ourselves and become more helpful and understanding towards others in order to start changing our circle of friendships and communications to a better and less stressful one. Help an old lady to carry her groceries home. Ask a young lady crying in the street what had happened and talk to her. Give a smile to a kid in the street who looks upset. Don't send your mom away to the house for the elderly but rather let her enjoy the atmosphere of her family's place and the care of her close ones as long as she can.

Once you become a more sympathetic and understanding person you will begin to make many more friends. And they will also be more quality friends! There's no country where good people and values like mutual support and understanding totally vanished. It's just that we attract the same sort of people to us as we are.

So when you become a better person you will also get better people around you. And when you'll be going through tough times you will have friends who will listen to you, hear you and help you too! When you'll be aging and sick your kids won't send you out of home to the facility for aging people. And what's even more important - being friendly, positive and kind to others by itself is also a form of self realization that helps one feel more useful and appreciated in the society; and is hence a simple and efficient way to reduce stress.

Feeling lonely and upset? Tired of dealing with stress ? Or just feeling like a conversation on the subject you don't trust other people around you enough to discuss?

Controlling Stress and Tension in an Easy and Effective Manner

It is very crucial to opt for measures for controlling stress and tension as persistently high feelings of stress can take a toll on your health as well as your attitude towards personal and professional life. If these disorders are not dealt with properly and on time then you might suffer from health problems, imbalanced life style, lacking creativity, addictions and negative attitude.

Few steps for controlling stress and tension are as follows:

While at work, take breaks to relieve you from work stress and re-energize yourselfMaintain proper eating habits with a balanced dietRegular exercise regime to maintain your health and fitnessKeep a watch on your attitude towards different situations of lifeAvoid caffeine and late evening mealsHave sound sleep to get your mind and body completely relaxed.

Stress and tensions due to work pressures in office, financial instability, family tensions etc can have an adverse affect on your attitude and behavior. In order to deal with such situations, it is imperative to think positively and be optimistic. You should also take some out of your busy schedule to spend time with your friends and family. This helps in dealing with your stress and tensions. A weekend gateway or a holiday well spent with dear ones acts as a stress buster and relieves you from all sorts of tensions. Planned activities or a mere hang out help a lot in dealing with everyday stress. A little amount of stress and tension is good to keep you active and in being responsible. But it becomes troublesome when the level increases and disturbs your mental and physical balance.

Some people take initiative in controlling stress and tension through deep breathing exercises. Following are the benefits of such deep breathing exercises that have a positive impact on one's behavior and attitude:

It relaxes your body and mind without any kind of meditationIt relieves your mind from all stress and things that bother youIt takes away all sorts of anxieties and symptoms like- headaches, poor appetite, sleeplessness, nausea, pessimistic attitude and others.

In order to get complete relief from your stressful life, you can either deal with it yourself or seek help from professionals who can teach you stress management techniques. The program for individuals or groups begins with indentifying the sources of stress. The true sources of stress do not always look obvious and hence these often go overlooked. Constant worry about work deadlines takes a toll on your life and makes it stressful. But often it is your procrastination rather than actual demands of the job that makes you stressful about work deadlines. Again, increasing family responsibilities and financial instability also increases stress and tension in life.

Controlling stress and tension no matter in whichever walk of life should be dealt with properly and on time to ensure a healthy and peaceful life at home or work.

What is The Cause of Our Ills And What Can we Do About It?

In our crazy moving life we are very used to physically, psychologically and emotionally take on much more than we actually should and can bear. Tearing apart between our careers, families and personal goals, running here and there - from office to the gym, from kindergarten to supermarket, from trains to plains. We are in such a rush to get everything done, that we fail to notice how slowly we are getting done with ourselves. If you continue to steal those precious hours of rest on a weekend away from yourself, stress will pay you back - you will need months of therapy to live again. Chronic stress is a very dangerous thing to play with - you can never know your limits for sure, and it can strike you at any given moment that you realize - you can not go on, you can not continue.

Good news are - progress waits for no one so researches were made, studies were taken, people were asked. Now we know what helps, stops and cures our wretched souls and bodies. Firstly, we need to take a break when it is possible before it is necessary. We need to quit playing games with our health, because we are no iron man or women, we are gentle creatures, and even if we can take our powers and capabilities to the limits, we need to know those limits and never cross them.

Take your time to cherish yourself, and always have enough sleep. Remember - if you exhaust yourself to the stage of vegetable - there will be no way you will be able to keep up with your tasks. So again - take you time, plan it better, have a break occasionally. And when you have those precious moments of peace - pamper yourself, visit a Spa or Wellness center, meditate or take it to the next level and dip in a Hot Tub. Wooden Hot Tubs are known to be helpful with a list of health issues, including stress management, chronic pains, depression and burn out syndrome.

To give yourself a better idea, try to imagine a wooden font that smells like forest, filled with bubbling hot water. How Stress Causes the Onset Of Acne?

Stress and anxiety can be related to many health conditions like heart disease, hair loss, cancer, physical conditions and even acne breakouts. When you first visit a doctor, they will go through several questions to determine the cause of severe acne breakouts with the number one question being: Are you suffering from increase levels of stress?

Little is known on how stress and anxiety cause actual acne breakouts to occur but doctors have uncovered a correlation between acne and stress levels.

Here is what we know:

Stress Increase Hormone Levels

Whenever you suffer from higher than normal levels of stress your body goes through a "flight or fight" response. During this stage your mind requires more than normal levels of hormone just in case you are pushed into a situation that you need extra levels of energy and power. This process releases more hormones from your androgen gland however when this increase in hormone levels occur, you are releasing more sebum, which is the hormone responsible for blocking follicles and clogging pores. Clogged pores leads to bacteria and oil build up which starts the development of acne.

Lack Of Sleep

When you can't sleep, your body doesn't have enough time to cleanse the body and rebuild dead skin cells. Whenever you suffer from acne, you run the risk of having scars left over on your skin. Sufficient amount of sleep allows your body to repair and remove these dead skin cells. Sleep also cleanses your body of toxins which normally would run through your blood stream clogging pores developing acne.

Stress Weakens Your Immune System

Research has been vast on the effects of stress on the immune system. What is known is, stress weakens your immune systems response to fight off infections and bacteria from within the blood stream. We also know that stress weakens the immune system by 40% which means that you have just decrease the ability for your body to fight off bacteria close to half.

What Can Be Done?'

There are several options available to you that will help you cope with stress. We are very lucky that we live in a time that much time and effort has been dedicated to stress and its impact on health. First, if you are suffering from stress, you have the option to talk to a therapist. People have been doing this for decades and it has been proven to get to the root of your stress cause. Once you have discovered the cause, you can than work at finding a solution. If a solution is not as simple as talk therapy, than your therapist has the ability to recommend some medication to help you get on the right track.

Secondly, the most beneficial would be to incorporate a exercise routine in your daily lifestyle. Exercise has been proven to combat stress by release pain killer into your blood stream known as endorphins. Endorphins have long been praised for reducing stress and boosting the immune system. It is recommended to add about 30-45 minutes of exercise to your lifestyle every two days minimum. However if you have the ability and time to incorporate more time, than this will benefit your fight to combat stress even more.

Reduce Your Stress With These Great Tips

Let those around you know to not take your stress personally; that it is not them that caused it. Frequently, spouses, and particularly children, feel like they are at fault. Your stress has to be something you handle, and should never be placed upon the shoulders of the people close to you.

One effective stress management technique that you should consider utilizing is aromatherapy. Certain scents have been proven to ease your mind and relax you. Essential oils like chamomile, lavender and sandalwood can all help to reduce tension. Keep a little vial of essential oil on hand, so that you can take a whiff from time-to-time to calm your nerves.

The simple act of smiling can often be a stress reliever. Muscles used during the process of smiling activate the limbic system, which handles your emotions. So smiling can really be considered a valid solution to the stress in your daily life, as it helps your limbic system generate feelings of calmness.

Concentrate on your breathing patterns. Even though it might be hard to believe, it is a fact that more oxygen is brought into your bloodstream by deep breaths and this enables you to relax faster. Most people that are feeling stressed tend to breathe from the upper part of their chest. This kind of breathing will speed your heart up and can tighten up your chest muscles, which can create feelings of stress.

If you have a group of friends, take a jog in the park and enjoy the great outdoors. You need to reduce your body's toxins through sweat or other ways. Go running or jogging to eliminate stress from your life.

Take slow, deep, controlled breaths whenever you feel stressed. Stressful breathing is shallow and rapid. You can convince your body that you are calm with mindful deep breathing. This will help you reduce stress and should be a daily routine.

Engage in an enjoyable activity each day in order to decrease your stress levels. You can play your favorite video game, go for a jog or watch a movie. Even if you think you have too many things to do to take a break, make relaxing a priority. The time you spend relaxing is useful because it will prevent you from losing time later once you become too stressed and exhausted.

Stand by a solid wall, put your weight in your hands on the wall, and push hard while bracing your feet on the floor. Physical effort can be a really good way to relieve your stress.

If you're struggling with classes at school, consider hiring a tutor. With the help of a tutor, you can learn the subject quicker and more thoroughly so that when the test time comes, you will be relaxed and familiar with the material. Understanding the material helps to reduce anxiety while instilling confidence.

Shallow breathing can stress your organs and body, especially your heart and lungs. Deep, controlled breathing benefits the body and relaxes the mind. Practice specific breathing techniques and keep reminding yourself throughout the day to slow down and breathe deeply in order to minimize stress. Don't forget to exhale!

It is vital that you find a strong support system to help deal with the stress in your life. When problems arise and leave you feeling helpless, you need to be able to turn to someone who is willing to help you cope. You should immediately begin building yourself a solid support system.

If you are in a relationship, go out for a romantic, candlelit dinner with the person that you love. You can just focus on your loved one and the time you have with them, rather than worrying about your problems.

By being prepared for problems you may encounter, you can reduce your exposure to stressful situations. Keep a spare car key on you in case you get locked out of your car, have some small snacks at work, and always have a backup plan for whatever you are doing. If you have pre-prepared solutions for your problems, you'll be able to solve them in an instant.

You should try and keep the stress in your life under control. Stress is a major contributor to aches and pains, depression, insomnia, ulcers, cardiac arrest, high blood pressure, stroke and more. Getting a full night's sleep helps to cut down on stress and can help to stay as healthy as possible.

Remaining in a positive state of mind is key, regardless of the source of your stress. If you allow yourself to get lost in negative thoughts, you will only make things worse. The disappearance of one problem usually brings on another. You need to make sure you have a positive attitude to reduce stress and stay focused on the good things in life.

To combat the brutal affects of daily stress, get a professional massage whenever you can. A massage is the perfect solution to a rough and stressful day. Massages also work out tension, stiffness and soreness in muscles, and lull your mind into a state of well deserved bliss.

If you would like less stress in your life, try to plan ahead for events and situations. When your gas is running low, go get that gas immediately.

Try not to carry the whole world's weight on your shoulders alone. Create a mindset that allows you to manipulate your thinking or attitude. This will increase your ability to relax and approach life normally.

There are many things in life we cannot change; however, there are quite a few we can and should change. Use the helpful tips in this article so you can free your life from stress and become a more relaxed and peaceful person.

Relief Your Stress And Overall Health Through Meditation

In a time when everyone seems to always be in hurry because of heavy working hours, stress is perhaps among the most common concern that people complain about. There are various types of treatments for stress, but some have certain side effects. However, there's a natural way of relieving tension/stress, and that's meditation. It even enhances one's overall well-being.

Understanding Meditation

Meditation traces itself to the thousands of years ago in ancient Indian culture. It was originally employed as a practice for spiritual development. Nowadays, it is primarily used for health purposes, and is considered a type of complementary medicine that include both the body and the mind. There are various classifications of meditation, like tai chi and yoga, but all entail the relaxation of the body and freeing the mind of preoccupations that cause the stress. It allows the body to cool down from everyday hyperactivity and to free it of stress hormones, which can lead to more serious health concerns, like heart disease , high blood pressure, and even mental degradation.

Meditation and Breathing

In meditation controlling one's breathing is a vital element. Through conscious breathing, the body systems are relaxed, thereby preparing the individual for a state of meditation. For example, controlled diaphragmatic breathing calms the nervous system so that one's senses are in sync.

Quick Tips on How to Start Meditating

The First is set the mood. A relaxing environment is very necessary if you want to meditate. You also have to be familiar with the place so you will feel at ease. Few types of meditation use soothing music to set the mood.

Be in a comfortable position. It is necessary that during meditation your posture is one that is most comfortable for you. Some types require a specific position, such as the lotus position, but in general, there really is no required one. As long as you are relaxed in your position, then that's the right one.

Always Focus on one thing. Once you have relaxed and "let go" through conscious breathing, try to focus your attention on a specific object. If not on your breathing, than try focusing on a certain sound. Perhaps the chirping of the birds or the sound of water if you're near flowing water.

Imagine. In meditation, free your inner mind and body, so you can create a pleasant environment in your head. This mental image can enhance the feeling of being at ease in your environment.

It is very easy and practical to perform because it does not require any special paraphernalia. Anybody can perform it as long as the person allows him or herself to let go. It not only remove stress, but also any alarming health issues that stress can lead to. So other than being a stress reliever, meditation could also even be a lifesaver.

How To Avoid Workplace Stress Affecting Family Life

No matter what industry you work in, you're bound to face workplace stress from time to time, especially if you're a parent. From looming deadlines to difficult bosses, workplace stress can quickly build up, and when it does, it can affect not just your work life, but also your family life.

Common Workplace Stressors for Parents

Parents face a variety of stressors in the workplace, but some of the most common include having a sick child at home, not being able to take time off for important family functions and personal problems within the family. When these stressors present themselves, it can be difficult not to let your work life and your family life affect each other. Workplace stresses can be caused by many things: hostile environments, poor relations with colleagues and even something more extreme such as whistleblowing. Our whistleblower law firm has found that in these types of situations, the stress can multiply, and the parent may not be able to talk about their stress with anyone.

Prioritize Your Stress

One of the best ways to avoid stress at work is to remember what is important. All too often, people allow themselves to take a very myopic view of a stressful situation, and before they know it, a small issue has morphed into a huge one. Anytime that you're presented with a stressful situation, try to prioritize your stress. Instead of viewing a singular issue, try to look at the big picture. When you do this, you may just find that the thing you've been stressing out about really isn't a big deal at all.

Leave Your Stress at Work

It may sound easier said than done, but you can leave your stress behind at work by creating a routine. When you arrive home from work, try to change out of your work clothes as soon as possible. Doing this can be a figurative and literal reminder that you're no longer at work, and studies have shown that this will ultimately help you to separate your work life and your family life. You may also want to try writing down your stressors on a piece of paper while at work, and then crumpling it up and throwing it away when you leave for the day. This is a mental exercise that can help you to leave your worries behind instead of bringing them home.

Get Active

Another great way to deal with stress at work is to get active. While at work, try to take a break to walk around once an hour, or you can also do simple stretching exercises at your desk throughout the day. When you get home, change into some workout clothes and go for a walk or jog. Getting active has been proven to lower blood pressure and reduce stress, and you can even make it a family affair and get everyone involved.

If you've tried a variety of methods for reducing stress, but none have helped, you may also consider speaking with your boss or your human resources department. In many cases, these entities will be able to work with you to find the cause of your stress and eliminate it. Many bosses will be willing to work with you if you just ask, so never be afraid to approach your supervisor with your concerns.
