Tips to Stress Less with Nutrilite

At this time of year stress levels can be sky high and the following advice is aimed at helping you reduce the effects and symptoms of a stressful lifestyle...

It isn't all bad - it is important to remember that stress is an everyday reaction in the body. When we are confronted with a challenge, our body releases three hormones - cortisol, adrenaline and noradrenaline which the heart pumps around the body, creating the 'fight or flight' feeling. Although this is natural, if your body is put through this for a long period of time it can have serious health effects

Count sleep, not sheep - ensure that you get between 7.5 and 9 hours of sleep per night otherwise your concentration levels are affected. If you find it difficult to sleep at night, drink a glass of milk which can have a calming effect on the body by lowering blood pressure and reducing levels of cortisol. If milk isn't to your taste you may want to consider taking a similar supplement, such as calcium and magnesium

Fun in the sun - if you are spending all day in the office or at home, it is unlikely that you are getting your recommended daily allowance of vitamin D, 90% of which is obtained by sunlight. Make sure that you take a break from your work and enjoy the sunshine (whenever it hits) however if you are tied to your desk, a supplement can provide you with an alternative option. For example Nutrilite Double X not only provides you with 66 per cent of your recommended daily allowance of vitamin D but also helps the body to maintain consistent nutrient levels in the blood throughout the day

Stay balanced - adapting your schedule to fit around your commitments can often lead to an imbalance of daily food intake, which is why both over- and undereating are side effects of stress. Make sure that you fit regular and balanced meals into your day and if you are looking for that energy boost, instead of reaching for a chocolate bar why not consider a healthier snack? A protein bar provides you with essential elements for your diet as well as an increase in energy levels

Nutrilite has a 'Family Health - Naturally' campaign, which encourages people to think of different ways for themselves and their families to be healthy. Find healthy lifestyle and nutrition tips on the Nutrilite Facebook page or Twitter account @nutrilitefamily

Reduce Your Stress With These Great Tips

Let those around you know to not take your stress personally; that it is not them that caused it. Frequently, spouses, and particularly children, feel like they are at fault. Your stress has to be something you handle, and should never be placed upon the shoulders of the people close to you.

One effective stress management technique that you should consider utilizing is aromatherapy. Certain scents have been proven to ease your mind and relax you. Essential oils like chamomile, lavender and sandalwood can all help to reduce tension. Keep a little vial of essential oil on hand, so that you can take a whiff from time-to-time to calm your nerves.

The simple act of smiling can often be a stress reliever. Muscles used during the process of smiling activate the limbic system, which handles your emotions. So smiling can really be considered a valid solution to the stress in your daily life, as it helps your limbic system generate feelings of calmness.

Concentrate on your breathing patterns. Even though it might be hard to believe, it is a fact that more oxygen is brought into your bloodstream by deep breaths and this enables you to relax faster. Most people that are feeling stressed tend to breathe from the upper part of their chest. This kind of breathing will speed your heart up and can tighten up your chest muscles, which can create feelings of stress.

If you have a group of friends, take a jog in the park and enjoy the great outdoors. You need to reduce your body's toxins through sweat or other ways. Go running or jogging to eliminate stress from your life.

Take slow, deep, controlled breaths whenever you feel stressed. Stressful breathing is shallow and rapid. You can convince your body that you are calm with mindful deep breathing. This will help you reduce stress and should be a daily routine.

Engage in an enjoyable activity each day in order to decrease your stress levels. You can play your favorite video game, go for a jog or watch a movie. Even if you think you have too many things to do to take a break, make relaxing a priority. The time you spend relaxing is useful because it will prevent you from losing time later once you become too stressed and exhausted.

Stand by a solid wall, put your weight in your hands on the wall, and push hard while bracing your feet on the floor. Physical effort can be a really good way to relieve your stress.

If you're struggling with classes at school, consider hiring a tutor. With the help of a tutor, you can learn the subject quicker and more thoroughly so that when the test time comes, you will be relaxed and familiar with the material. Understanding the material helps to reduce anxiety while instilling confidence.

Shallow breathing can stress your organs and body, especially your heart and lungs. Deep, controlled breathing benefits the body and relaxes the mind. Practice specific breathing techniques and keep reminding yourself throughout the day to slow down and breathe deeply in order to minimize stress. Don't forget to exhale!

It is vital that you find a strong support system to help deal with the stress in your life. When problems arise and leave you feeling helpless, you need to be able to turn to someone who is willing to help you cope. You should immediately begin building yourself a solid support system.

If you are in a relationship, go out for a romantic, candlelit dinner with the person that you love. You can just focus on your loved one and the time you have with them, rather than worrying about your problems.

By being prepared for problems you may encounter, you can reduce your exposure to stressful situations. Keep a spare car key on you in case you get locked out of your car, have some small snacks at work, and always have a backup plan for whatever you are doing. If you have pre-prepared solutions for your problems, you'll be able to solve them in an instant.

You should try and keep the stress in your life under control. Stress is a major contributor to aches and pains, depression, insomnia, ulcers, cardiac arrest, high blood pressure, stroke and more. Getting a full night's sleep helps to cut down on stress and can help to stay as healthy as possible.

Remaining in a positive state of mind is key, regardless of the source of your stress. If you allow yourself to get lost in negative thoughts, you will only make things worse. The disappearance of one problem usually brings on another. You need to make sure you have a positive attitude to reduce stress and stay focused on the good things in life.

To combat the brutal affects of daily stress, get a professional massage whenever you can. A massage is the perfect solution to a rough and stressful day. Massages also work out tension, stiffness and soreness in muscles, and lull your mind into a state of well deserved bliss.

If you would like less stress in your life, try to plan ahead for events and situations. When your gas is running low, go get that gas immediately.

Try not to carry the whole world's weight on your shoulders alone. Create a mindset that allows you to manipulate your thinking or attitude. This will increase your ability to relax and approach life normally.

There are many things in life we cannot change; however, there are quite a few we can and should change. Use the helpful tips in this article so you can free your life from stress and become a more relaxed and peaceful person.

Simple Ways To End Worries And Start Living

Stress is becoming one of the most common health concerns these days mainly due to the type of lifestyle people have adopted which gives them very little time for themselves. Being regularly stressed out can easily lead to falling prey to many diseases which could be both physical and psychological. In this article we are going to discuss about some of the things one can do to avoid stress and lead a happy and healthy life throughout.

Breath Control

Our breathing plays a very vital and important role in calming down our nerves and making us feel better. One of the effective ways to counter stress response is to count the length of time of exhale and inhale and gradually increasing the exhale timing. If it takes you four seconds to inhale try to exhale slowly through 8 seconds. Generally taking 10 such breaths will help a great deal in calming down your mind and body.

Sing To Relax

If you find it difficult to sit quite and count your deep breaths then another alternative to relaxation is to sing which produces an almost similar effect and promotes a feeling of soothness and enhanced mood. It is because when we are singing we naturally lengthen or exhaling and inhaling process. The best thing about this method is that it can be done in any place like while driving, in the bathroom and anywhere you like and feel comfortable.

Water Intake

You would be most probably unaware of the fact then when our hydration levels drop by just 2% our ability to perform simple maths and take normal decisions starts to get affected negatively. A well hydrated body has a better ability to take right decisions. So whenever you feel the need have as much water as you like.

Bring Your Mind Back

This is also an effective way to relieve stress. Close your eyes and concentrate on what is happening inside your body. Feel the sensations bring your mind from outside world to inside your own body. Doing this will help you concentrate better and make you forget all your worries for a little while and make you rejuvenated.

Humor

We all know how refreshing humor is for our mind and body. Having a good laugh is the best remedy to beat stress and depression. Keep in touch with your friends and share with them all the good times. Learn to laugh at your problems , it is the best way to tackle them positively. When we have a positive attitude towards things we normally win over all situations.

So the basic message is to slow down and take time out for yourself because you came into this world to enjoy your life which is a beautiful gift of god so stop worrying and start living from this very moment itself.

Relief Your Stress And Overall Health Through Meditation

In a time when everyone seems to always be in hurry because of heavy working hours, stress is perhaps among the most common concern that people complain about. There are various types of treatments for stress, but some have certain side effects. However, there's a natural way of relieving tension/stress, and that's meditation. It even enhances one's overall well-being.

Understanding Meditation

Meditation traces itself to the thousands of years ago in ancient Indian culture. It was originally employed as a practice for spiritual development. Nowadays, it is primarily used for health purposes, and is considered a type of complementary medicine that include both the body and the mind. There are various classifications of meditation, like tai chi and yoga, but all entail the relaxation of the body and freeing the mind of preoccupations that cause the stress. It allows the body to cool down from everyday hyperactivity and to free it of stress hormones, which can lead to more serious health concerns, like heart disease , high blood pressure, and even mental degradation.

Meditation and Breathing

In meditation controlling one's breathing is a vital element. Through conscious breathing, the body systems are relaxed, thereby preparing the individual for a state of meditation. For example, controlled diaphragmatic breathing calms the nervous system so that one's senses are in sync.

Quick Tips on How to Start Meditating

The First is set the mood. A relaxing environment is very necessary if you want to meditate. You also have to be familiar with the place so you will feel at ease. Few types of meditation use soothing music to set the mood.

Be in a comfortable position. It is necessary that during meditation your posture is one that is most comfortable for you. Some types require a specific position, such as the lotus position, but in general, there really is no required one. As long as you are relaxed in your position, then that's the right one.

Always Focus on one thing. Once you have relaxed and "let go" through conscious breathing, try to focus your attention on a specific object. If not on your breathing, than try focusing on a certain sound. Perhaps the chirping of the birds or the sound of water if you're near flowing water.

Imagine. In meditation, free your inner mind and body, so you can create a pleasant environment in your head. This mental image can enhance the feeling of being at ease in your environment.

It is very easy and practical to perform because it does not require any special paraphernalia. Anybody can perform it as long as the person allows him or herself to let go. It not only remove stress, but also any alarming health issues that stress can lead to. So other than being a stress reliever, meditation could also even be a lifesaver.

Your Children Do Feel Your Stress

The state of the economy can affect young children, just as it does to many adults. While children do not understand the news or the changes at home, they do pick-up on the stress their parents are feeling. For this reason, it is important to talk to your children about stress and what is causing it. Deciding how and when to tell your children about household cut-backs, a job loss or a possible move is not easy.

"Young children do not understand and do not benefit from conversations that are overly detailed or that speculate about what might or could happen, such as possible job loss or a potential move. They do profit from simple, clear words and concrete information to explain what is happening in their lives," said Dr. Alison Steier, an infant mental health psychologist at Southwest Human Development.

Research shows that steady, responsive, sensitive parent-child relationships can buffer children from the effects of excessive stress and can promote children's own sense of competence and effectiveness. According to Dr. Steier, "Young children organize their experience around their relationships with parents and other trusted adults and are quite attuned to the feelings of these individuals. They look to these adults in order to draw conclusions about whether they are safe or need to be worried or fearful. They operate according to the principle, 'I'm OK if you're OK.'"

Signs that children are struggling with excessive stress:

Changes in eating and/or sleeping patterns.Increased clinginess, whining or attention-seeking behaviors.Regression or a return to behavior characteristic of a younger child like calling for a parent in the night, toilet accidents, thumb sucking or asking for a bottle.Increased fear of separation.Increased aggression, irritability, fussiness and frustration.Decreased cooperativeness.Withdrawal or subdued mood.

What can parents do to help? These suggestions may be helpful:

Take care of yourself. This is not a luxury; parents must take care of themselves in order to help their children. Exercise, getting enough sleep, and reaching out to your own support circle are all good examples.Use words to label children's feelings. It helps them feel more organized and your empathy can help them settle down.Maintain everyday routines as much as possible. Some sense of predictability, even in the midst of great change, helps everyone retain a feeling of security. Bathing, meals, playtime and even homework are the life activities that communicate to children that some things don't change.Let people like child care providers and teachers know that your family is going through difficult times and they may see changes in your child's behavior. Sharing strategies you use at home to help your child may be appropriate.Parents, or professionals, with questions about whether their child is experiencing stress, or any other child development question, can call our free Birth to Five Helpline (1-877-705 KIDS) and speak with a child development specialist. Control Your Stress with Meditation

Dealing with stress the wrong way

When we are placed in situations of pressure or stress, our body responds in very negative ways. Such outcomes are mental fatigue, anxiety attacks, anger, frustration and all these can lead to other problems of the physical body. Many people tend to deal with such 'problems' with listening to music, resorting to drugs or alcohol, physical exercise and many others. But the solution is not to turn away from it but be able to control, reduce and on a higher level not be affected by it at all.

Now a team of researchers from China and the University of Oregon have developed an approach for neuroscientists to study how meditation might provide improvements in a person's attention and response to stress. The study, done in China, randomly assigned college undergraduate students to 40-person experimental or control groups. The experimental group received five days of meditation training using a technique called the integrative body-mind training (IBMT). The control group got five days of relaxation training. Before and after training both groups took tests involving attention and reaction to mental stress.

The experimental group showed greater improvement than the control in an attention test designed to measure the subjects' abilities to resolve conflict among stimuli. Stress was induced by mental arithmetic. Both groups initially showed elevated release of the stress hormone cortisol following the math task, but after training the experimental group showed less cortisol release, indicating a greater improvement stress regulation. The experimental group also showed lower levels of anxiety, depression, anger and fatigue than was the case in the control group.

"This study improves the prospect for examining brain mechanisms involved in the changes in attention and self-regulation that occur following meditation training," said co-author Michael I. Posner, professor emeritus of psychology at the University of Oregon. "The study took only five days, so it was possible to randomly assign the subjects and do a thorough before-and-after analysis of the training effects."

Integrative body-mind training

The IBMT approach was developed in the 1990s. Its effects have been studied in China since 1995. The technique avoids struggles to control thought, relying instead on a state of restful alertness, allowing for a high degree of body-mind awareness while receiving instructions from a coach, who provides breath-adjustment guidance and mental imagery while soothing music plays in the background. Thought control is achieved gradually through posture, relaxation, body-mind harmony and balanced breathing. The authors noted in the study that IBMT may be effective during short-term application because of its integrative use of these components.

IBMT has been found to improve emotional and cognitive performance, as well as social behavior, in people, said lead author Yi-Yuan Tang, a professor in the Institute of Neuroinformatics and Laboratory for Body and Mind at Dalian University of Technology in Dalian, China. Tang currently is a visiting scholar at the University of Oregon, where he is working with Posner on a new and larger study to be conducted in the United States.

The current study did not include direct measures of brain changes, although previous studies have suggested alterations have occurred in brain networks. Posner said the planned studies in the United States will include functional magnetic resonance imaging to examine any brain network changes induced by training.

In summary, the 11-member team wrote: "IBMT is an easy, effective way for improvement in self-regulation in cognition, emotion and social behavior. Our study is consistent with the idea that attention, affective processes and the quality of moment-to-moment awareness are flexible skills that can be trained."

At this point, the findings suggest a measurable benefit that people could achieve through body-mind meditation, especially involving an effective training regimen, but larger studies are needed to fully test the findings of this small, short-term study, Posner said.

Panic Attacks - How to Stop Them

Panic Attacks are by far one of the most fearful experiences one can have. Those who experience it for the first time and have no idea what's going on can actually end up thinking the worst. Meaning, that some people believe that throughout the attack there is an impending death, they're going crazy, heart attack, or nervous breakdown. However, there are certain techniques to reduce panic attacks and get rid of them completely.

What is a Panic Attack?

A Panic Attack is moment of intense fear or uncertainty. The attack usually lasts several minutes and, if repeated one after the other, can be described as a disorder. However, rather the most frightening aspects occur during the attack where one feels as if he's losing his/her sanity, or about to die. This can result in further panic and have blood leave the brain and move over to critical parts of the body as forms of "defense." Some of the symptoms include:

Chest painHot/Cold FlashesBurning sensationIncreased heartbeathyperventilationlight-headedness

Of course, there are several more that you can look up. However, I should mention something which touches on me personally which is the lump in the throat or ball in the throat syndrome. After panic attacks I get a ball in the throat, yet it feels more like a thought than an actual physical problem. However, after some research I realized that this is a form of acid reflux. Most victims of Panic Attacks will immediately assume the worst, and believe that the ball in the throat is indeed throat cancer, but that might not be necessarily true. Although if you have real suspicions you should see a doctor.

Why do People Have Panic Attacks

There could be many reasons why one has a panic attack. This can be from heredity reasons, meaning that if a parent had panic attacks you could as well. Alongside this an over cautious education of the parents can lead the child to develop a negative view of the world. Short term triggering causes, can be a leading factor to panic attacks. This includes the more uncomfortable situations in our lives (break ups, death in the family, losing your job, etc.) Also, those who constantly worry about the future and build "what-if" situations can be highly prone to panic attacks. Other causes can include taking new types of medication, drug/alcohol withdrawal, or chronic diseases (which in most cases will lead the individual to guess why he's having these attacks and should probably consult a doctor).

How to Stop Panic Attacks

If a disorder, Panic Attacks should be handled professionally by psychological therapy and different forms of medication which can help the brain deal with such attacks.

However, a more hands-on approach that call can do is called the 5-2-5 breathing exercise. This helps reduce panic attacks by stopping hyperventilation. To do this, you must breath through your stomach rather than the chest. Take 5 seconds to inhale, hold your breath for 2 seconds with the stomach out, and then let out the air for 5 seconds. You can do this 30 minutes a day, a long with healthy eating and proper sleeping to help reduce panic attacks. Caffeine withdrawal can be a leading reason to panic attacks.

Are You Looking To Learn Meditation?

In the modern world everything seems to happen so fast that we can struggle to keep up mentally. Did I text my friend, have I checked my Facebook account, how many tasks must be finished by the deadline in work, does the car need a service, do I need to catch up on any TV series, and many other things that just mount up on a daily basis causing us constant stress? This is not good for the body as research has shown that constant stress has a physical effect which can lead to things like high blood pressure and heart disease later in life.

If any of that describes your life then you are probably at the point of wanting to do something about. You could change jobs, move house, throw away the TV, get new friends, but to be honest, none of these are really going to happen are they? There is another way though, you can learn to meditate. Research has shown that meditation, even for only 15 minutes a day, can lower stress levels and this has a positive effect on both your mental and physical state.

One of the best ways to learn meditation is to join a local group. You can search the internet to see if any groups exist near you, but do not worry if none exist as meditating on your own is not a problem, and you can even setup your own group and advertise it locally. A lot of information now exists on the internet on the best ways to go about learning how to meditate and you can even watch videos these days on sites like YouTube.

All mediation involves is relaxing and clearing the mind, although in some cases people find that visualizing something such as the waves washing over a beach can help. You can also use easy sounding background noise such as birds singing or whale sounds. You may need to try a few things to discover which works best for you.

By clearing your mind this will automatically help relax the body and relieve you of any stress you have. Once you come out of your mediation you will feel so much better and this will make your life much more enjoyable and less stressful. For people who suffer from aches and pains many have discovered that mediating daily can relieve them of some of the symptoms. You have nothing to lose by giving this a go and may have a lot to gain.

Stress- It's Everywhere. We're All Prone To It, Aren't We?

Stress is a statement that happens to be bandied about a great deal, however precisely what is stress and then how do you know if you may be affected and if you are...so what?

The issue with stress is the fact many of us believe we really know what it really is and what it really does so therefore assume that it does apply equally to one and all in the same way... which happens to be wherein the issues commence.

Let us begin with just what stress isnt... it isn't Pressure. Pressure is a primarily positive push, whether internal or external, pressure motivates one to attain a target, it motivates to you to push on, it engages you with an activity. Many people really like pressure and can just be efficient when the pressure really is peaking, other individuals believe that pressure is needless and will not boost success. Also, Stress isn't Burnout. Burnout is actually where a person can not any longer cope with stuff and can hit the wall, physically, emotionally and mentally. Burnout can result in persistent illness.

Stress is on a continuum with Pressure to one side and Burnout on the other. Where it is situated on that continuum will change from individual to person d situation to situation. Stress is typically considered to be extended intervals of pressure when you feel you have very little power over the situation. It is generally when pressure is high in more that one area of your life, you are aware of the feeling when you are relocating home and the dead-line for a job gets pulled forward. That emotion of "trying" to make do is a sure indication that stress is beginning to build, feeling things are slipping out of your control is frequently the key.

So, exactly what are the signals to be aware of that you may be negatively suffering from Stress?

The initial indication is feeling fatigued and worn out, the majority of the time. So exhausted in point of fact that you need to drink an extra shot of espresso or couple of cans of coke to allow you to get through the day. You start to use stimulants to present you with the energy you need to get the day. But not surprisingly this simply means you're vulnerable to mood swings...flying high straight after that coffee and snappy 90 minutes later when its worn off. Eventually of "propping yourself up" with stimulants in the day you find you cant get an excellent night rest...which is frustrating when you are so incredibly tired by this point. You begin to wake up feeling worn-out, so as opposed to cereal for breakfast every day you get a donut, to go with your big coffee.

Sugar.... just how great is sugar to help you cope with stress, just a few treats to pick yourself up...until you commence to put on a few pounds...especially around the middle. Exactly how quickly those couple of pounds could become a half stone or even just a stone. If only you guys had the energy to go to the gymnasium and work it off. But you have also detected that you happen to be picking up every cold and flu virus and bug there is going, continually appear to have some health problem you are trying to shake off. But there is a whole lot on at this time but you still must solider on.

A double espresso and chocolate should do the trick to help you feel better until sleep time. Speaking of which, it is all a no fly zone right now in the sack, even if you had the energy you don't possess the drive and besides which you have a face full of spots and thats not a great look!!

Sound well-known?

If so then you may be under going the effects of stress, exhaustion, sleeplessness, skin conditions, mood swings, fat gain, aches and pains, susceptibility to illness and low sexual desire are just some of the general effects of stress. Not everyone reacts to stress in the same way. But if in case this is you, then now could be time take some action to put straight some of the stressors in your life. Whilst the scenario above may sound less attractive in the short term its annoyingly inconvenient, in the long run it may result in burnout, depression, high blood pressure levels, persistent fatigue, adrenal failure or even heart disease.

Exactly what can you do?

Mention it, keeping feelings bottle up or pretending all things are ok is not helping.

Spend some time to evaluate precisely what is causing the stress, you might figure out by yourself how you could possibly tackle things, but you might have to involve other people to encourage you.

Be kind to yourself, at this point is not the time to pile on the guilt. Should you be feeling that stress is taking its toll it is no representation of you as a particular person or just how tough you are, if anything facing up to the circumstances and acting upon it take extra sureness that to go on and on and simply hope it shows improvements without treatment.

Evaluate the foods you eat, is it supporting you or working against you, remember stress impacts physically as well as mentally and emotionally. Your system needs to have the right meals to ensure that it can repair and revitalize.

Get outside, even when its merely for ten minutes, on a regular basis if not every day then quite as often as you can. leave the mobiles behind and just allow you system to refresh itself. Get pleasure from a few moments of fresh air and peacefulness.

Get more active, activity breeds energy, and even while it could be the last thing you feel like it can help, however pick wisely...a grueling spin class or a 10 mile run may actually be counterproductive as it produces cortisol.

The Way to Reduce Stress May be More Simple Than we Think

A lot of people in seemingly economically advanced countries visit licensed psychotherapists and take antidepressants hoping to cope with stress and depression. They often spend thousands of dollars on all of those but in many cases only end up getting addicted to some expensive meds, while as soon as they stop those, their problems return. At times in a worse form than before.

When I was traveling to places like Dominican Republic, India and some other countries where half the citizens don't even own a computer and the only thing to drive they have is a bicycle, I found them to be ways much happier people than those I met in the wealthier and more developed places of the world. They are friendly, smiling and they take their life as a gift from God that should be enjoyed instead of getting focused and depressed over each little problem like many of us do in West Europe and USA.

When I talked to these people I realized a big part of it is the fact they have closer family and social links. They have a mom, dad, brother, sister and a neighbor next-door to share their worries and concerns with. And when their families and friends will listen to them and support them willingly instead of saying "I've no time for your problems" like many people will tell their friends and close ones in the western world.

"But I'm living in this western world where everyone's too much stressed out and got too fast a pace of life to give a helping hand to a close one.. What do I do?" you may wonder. Well, even in this western world by far not every person is unfriendly and unhelpful. We can still find help and understanding from others even in countries where it's rare to find. The only problem is we tend to choose the wrong people to be around, and that's because..we attract the sort of people that are similar to ourselves!

And, in fact, we should start with ourselves and become more helpful and understanding towards others in order to start changing our circle of friendships and communications to a better and less stressful one. Help an old lady to carry her groceries home. Ask a young lady crying in the street what had happened and talk to her. Give a smile to a kid in the street who looks upset. Don't send your mom away to the house for the elderly but rather let her enjoy the atmosphere of her family's place and the care of her close ones as long as she can.

Once you become a more sympathetic and understanding person you will begin to make many more friends. And they will also be more quality friends! There's no country where good people and values like mutual support and understanding totally vanished. It's just that we attract the same sort of people to us as we are.

So when you become a better person you will also get better people around you. And when you'll be going through tough times you will have friends who will listen to you, hear you and help you too! When you'll be aging and sick your kids won't send you out of home to the facility for aging people. And what's even more important - being friendly, positive and kind to others by itself is also a form of self realization that helps one feel more useful and appreciated in the society; and is hence a simple and efficient way to reduce stress.

Feeling lonely and upset? Tired of dealing with stress ? Or just feeling like a conversation on the subject you don't trust other people around you enough to discuss?

Tip's To Relieve Stress

Of course, a certain amount of stress can be positive if it gets us motivated to take action, but all too often we end up suffering from too much. It takes its toll as we become chronically tense and worn-out by the situations we face and the worries we fall prey to.

Most of us are ill-equipped to deal with the stress of modern life. Our bodies and brains evolved to deal with threats that we could either fight or run from, two strategies that usually don't work well with things that stress us in the 21st Century!

Too much stress lowers your willpower (you feel too worn out to resist not eating junk food, or having a cigarette even though you've 'given up') and it can also weaken your immune system, making you vulnerable to colds etc.

There are three main routes to relieving stress:

changing your environment, changing your perceptions and learning to relax.

Changing your environment:

It may be an obvious point, but think carefully if there are stressful situations or people that you can minimize your exposure to. Are these people or situations really worth the toll they could be taking on your health? Even if it takes a while, could you rearrange your life to cut back on the number of stressful situations you are in each week?

Another stressful thing in our environment is clutter. Hoarding endless stuff just in case you might need one day, can leave you feeling psychologically drained. Not only does it make it hard to find things, but it can make you feel cramped and overwhelmed, especially if you have limited space anyway. Be ruthless in throwing things out. If you really can't bare to throw stuff away, then put as much of it as possible into a box, and vow that any of the things in the box after six months or a year that you still haven't used must be thrown away!

Lastly, being stuck in one environment all day at work can become stressful. A change of environment, even for short breaks, can be a good idea. Or try to go outside for a walk at lunchtime and get some fresh air. Even better, try to make time, when possible, to spend in the countryside. Being around nature can be very soothing and relaxing.

Change your perceptions:

Most of the worrying we do is a waste of energy. It doesn't change anything, and often we worry about future things that never even happen! What a lot of unnecessary stress! There are a couple of techniques you can try to help stop worrying. Firstly, assign a particular time to worry about things. Say, one hour during the day, and forbid yourself to worry at any other time. Alternatively, think of the three worst possible things that could happen, and prepare for them, but then stop thinking about it.

Next, challenge any negative beliefs you hold. It's easy for us to let negative beliefs dominate our thinking, particularly when we don't stop to examine them. Ask yourself 'is this definitely true?' and 'are there any other possible alternative explanations for the facts?'

Also, avoid the tendency to 'catastrophise' in your thinking. In other words, don't always exaggerate every negative thing into a 'catastrophe'. Put things in perspective. Equally, don't always immediately jump to the worst possible interpretation of events. If someone, for example, makes a remark that you are tempted to take offense by, first consider other possible interpretations. Maybe the person genuinely didn't mean offense at all? Maybe it was a compliment that came out wrong, or perhaps they meant something entirely different from what you heard?

Learning to relax:

Lastly, learning to relax is obviously of great importance in combating stress. The more practice you put into relaxing, the better you can get at it.

Try learning breathing or meditation techniques. Or even just try spending regular time slowing your thoughts down. Sitting quietly and just letting your thoughts arise and disappear, without getting involved in them.

A useful relaxation technique is to slowly tense then relax each muscle in your body. Lay down somewhere quiet, and begin with tensing then relaxing the muscles in your feet, then your legs and so on, all the way up your body.

Getting enough sleep is also important in keeping stress manageable. Avoid working or watching TV immediately before you go to bed. Give your mind time to wind down before you try to sleep.

Conclusion:

It's impossible to avoid stress in life. There will inevitably be events that are stressful which we can't avoid. How ever, there are steps we can take to minimize the stress we encounter daily, and doing so can significantly increase our quality of life.

Easing Your Child's Stress

For us parents, it is hard to imagine that little children are even capable of being stressed out. I mean, kids are kids and they're too little to think about food, social issues or even simple things like choosing what color they are to wear today and not. Maybe your child is still a toddler and he still needs your eye to do things on his own but what if your child gets stressed? What should you do when it comes and how do you avoid it?

So maybe you're not aware of it but your child can also be stressed. The reasons? It could be his surroundings, his food, the way you treat him or he's uncomfortable and you keep on ignoring it. With these simple steps to care for your child, you'll find that not only will you be able to ease your child's stress and anxiety but as well as ease your own.

Listen and pay attention

Sometimes your child is trying to get your attention but because you're too busy doing something, you tend to ignore them. Or worse, they're trying to get your attention and you get annoyed, snap at them and tell them to shut up. What you are doing is a big NO when it comes to making your child stress free. True, a toddler is likely to ask for your attention when they accomplish something new by themselves. Whether it's their first doodle or they suddenly hurt themselves and need your comfort, pay attention to your child. Kids who are often ignored by their parents turned out to be withdrawn when they grow up or the other way around like turning to a fit of tantrums just for you to notice them. Either way, you wouldn't want to put that much stress on a child and more so yourself.

Let them talk to you

Maybe you've been used to your child not talking and you thought it normal. Well think again. As a parent, make sure that you make your child talk to you as much as you talk to them. Talking and communicating bridges the gap between parents and children who would like to say what they need and what they want. By simply talking, you can establish trust with your child. Let them talk to you about everything, even when it seems like endless answer their questions however silly or impossible. Never tire talking to your child because along the way, it will come naturally for them to tell everything to you.

Do some exercises together

Instead of keeping your child inside your house like forever, invite him for a jog outside together with your dog if you have one or invite him to the park and enjoy the amenities together with other children. Just like with adults, exercising your child early on would help them reduce the stress. Besides, exercising releases endorphins in your brain. Endorphins make you happy and happy children don't get stressed too easy.

Let them eat healthy

Keep away those junk foods away from your tot. Choose healthy foods instead and make sure that they get plenty of greens and fruits. You may let them indulge on sweets but make sure that you make the most of their meals to help them go active, grow big and glow healthy. Remember: not giving your child the proper nutrients they need through proper food would be one of the reasons why they might be experiencing stress and anxiety early on.

Maintain a schedule and stick to it

While taking a bath might elicit a loud cry from your child, maintaining a schedule and making your child become familiar to it would help you lessen the stress in handling them. From childbirth to infancy, your child should be trained to follow a schedule for them to get used enough to it and let them feel secure and safe. However, don't overdo the schedule thing. There is only 24 hours in a day and make sure they have enough time to rest, play, exercise, and enjoy themselves on other more things.

Most importantly, make your child stress-free by being an example to them

Who will your child look up to but you? If you want to keep stress and anxiety away from your child, then be the example to them. If ever you get angry, don't snap at them. Explain to them why things are wrong when you get mad and praise them when they do things right. Show them and tell them things they should do so that it will serve as their basis for what's right and what's wrong. But then again, what would matter most would be you being there always for them. Just become a parent ready to guide them into growing up healthy and happy away as much as possible from stress.
